Sap Collection
We have a modern sugarhouse, and use plastic tubing for sap collection, yet we boil with a traditional wood burning evaporator. For nostalgic reasons we have traditional buckets hung on the trees around the Sugarhouse. Our children gather and bring this in as their contribution to the sugaring season.
Last year we increased our sugarbush’s taps by 700 for a total of 2,700. Because of this combined with long sugaring season this year, we expect to double our syrup production over previous years.
